Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Benny Ray Walls, 49, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born in Oxford, MS, Mr. Walls had lived in this area most of his life. He was a preacher for the Church of Christ for many years. Mr. Walls played the trumpet, loved all genres of music and worked recording music with his business, Walls Audio Productions. He was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Oxford Church of Christ with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Bro. Lendy Bartlett and Bro. Jerry Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery, CR 321, Oxford, MS. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Chiquita Walls of Oxford, MS; two daughters, Candayce Smothers of Memphis, TN and Constance Willis of Calhoun City, MS; three brothers, Commie Walls of Saginaw, MI, Edward “Scoonie” Lewis of Abbeville, MS and L.T. Walls of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Helen Diane Walls of San Antonio, TX and Evelyn Baker of Pflugerville, TX; 3 grandchildren.
