Bettie Morehead Smith

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch It is with heavy hearts, but loving memories, the family announces the passing of Bettie Morehead Smith, 87, of Olive Branch, MS on April 23, 2022, after battling Lupus for over 25 years. Bettie was born on April 6, 1935, in Bowling Green, KY. She worked for the Memphis Postal Inspection Service for 30 plus years as an analyst. After retiring, she joined FedEx Services for several years. She loved to travel to the beach in Destin, FL and was fortunate to visit China with her friend in recent years. Bettie is survived by her husband, Bobby Smith and her son Steve Smith (Karen); her daughter Debbie Glenn (William); her (4) grandsons, Stephen Smith (Jessica), Christopher Smith (Laura), Clay Glenn (Mallory), Tyler Glenn (Courtney); her (5) great-grandchildren, Cooper Smith, Avery Smith, Colton Smith, Amelia Glenn, Cameran Glenn; her sister, Jean Martin and many nieces, nephews and friends that loved and adored her. Bettie was preceded in death by her father, Charles William Morehead and brother, Charles Douglas Morehead Sr. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2022, Visitation (11:00am – 12:00pm) followed by a Memorial Service (12:00pm – 1:00pm) at Coleman Funeral Home, 6815 Parkview Blvd, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Rev. Sam Jones of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. The family is requesting for any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Baptist Home Care and Hospice of North Mississippi.
