Billy White Coopwood Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Billy White Coopwood, Jr., 73, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hope Baptist Church (6800 Center Hill Road, Olive Branch, MS). The service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11:00 am also at the church for family and friends. The interment will follow at Memphis Memorial Gardens (3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN). Brother Burr Lovett will officiate. Bill was born on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1949 in Memphis, TN, but grew up in Mount Pleasant, MS. He celebrated his birthday this year on Easter Sunday. Bill worked for Sharp Manufacturing for twenty years before he left to open his own franchise, ServiceMaster Clean, which he ran for twenty-one years. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church. He was a servant of the Lord and taught Sunday School for over three decades. He loved to share the gospel with everyone he met. He was a mentor, prayer warrior, and passionate about knowing his family knew the Lord. Bill created Bella’s Lights, where Christmas lights were displayed along with music to share the Gospel. He enjoyed playing basketball, gardening, camping, water skiing, fishing, and riding roller coasters. He loved to share his knowledge of carpentry and mechanics. He coached youth baseball and softball. Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father, and papaw to his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Dinah Helms Coopwood of Olive Branch; daughters, Nichole Ritchey (Sean) of Collierville, TN, and Laurie Coopwood Valenzuela (Tino) of Olive Branch, MS; son, William Shawn Coopwood (Amber) of Holly Springs, MS; sisters, Marye Dibiasi (Billy) of Memphis, and Jennifer O’Brien (Michael) of Bloomfield Hills, MI; brother, Donald Coopwood of Mt. Pleasant, MS; grandchildren, Alexis (Patrick), Emily (Trevor), Alexia, J.J., Joshua, Chance, and Conner; great-grandchildren, Billie Wyatt and Ellie Mae; a host of nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Sarge. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley McIngvale Coopwood and Billy White Coopwood, Sr,; two brothers; and one sister.
