Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Charles Frank “Chuck Ripp” Ripperton, age 59, died at his home in Oxford, MS, Friday, January 2, 2009. Born in Anamosa, IA, Mr. Ripperton had been a professional musician. He performed with various groups and had recorded and written music for movie soundtracks. Well-known for restoring guitars and tube amplifiers, he was a vintage guitar expert. Mr. Ripperton had owned Magnolia Music for ten years and left that business to be a stay-at-home dad. He was a dedicated father who was very involved with children and various organizations related to children. Committed to an organic life-style, he was attuned to the well-being of the earth and spending time with his friends and family brought him great joy. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia L. Romano of Oxford, MS; two sons, Brennan Bolls-Romano and Charly Ripperton, both of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Gabrielle Bolls-Romano of Oxford, MS; one grandchild, Branson Lee of Batesville, MS; two sisters, Joyce Oehlerick and Sharon Howie of IA; two brothers, Forest Ripperton and John Ripperton of IA.
