Corbit Shelby Carper Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Corbit Shelby Carper, Jr., age 55, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Born in Memphis, TN, he had lived in this area since 1990. He had been employed in manufacturing with Pontotoc Fibers. While living in the Walls, MS, area, Mr. Carper had been a member of that volunteer fire department. He attended Spring Hill Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2009, 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 16, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hilton Lane officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories located at Coleman Funeral Home. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Olivia Renee Green of Walls, MS; his mother, Esther Jewel Roy and his stepfather, Kenneth Roy, both of Abbeville, MS; two sisters, Barbara Tutor of Algoma, MS and Sylvia Gooden of Sweetwater, TX; six brothers, Dickie Carper and Aubrey Carper, both of Oxford, MS, James Roy of Houston, TX, Billy Roy of Roshure, TX, Mike Roy of Brownwood, TX and Randy Roy of Sweetwater, TX; 3 grandchildren, Ryder Cash Green, Ana Grace Green and Peyton Green, all of Walls, MS. Mr. Carper was preceded in death by his father, Corbit S. Carper, Sr. Memorials may be made to the Huntington Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10018.
