Corey was born to James and Julie Lyles on May 30, 1993, in Oxford, MS. Corey resided in Abbeville and worked in construction within the community. Corey is remembered for his love of life and his ability to love all of those around him. He was a devoted father, uncle, and son who would do anything for his family. He was great friend, with a kind soul who would give you the shirt off his back. He never met a stranger, and never hesitated to put others needs before his own. In the short years Corey spent with us, he developed a love for boxing which served as his means of interacting with others and building relationships. He enjoyed the company of good friends who brought him the memories of a lifetime and may have even been found in a fishing hole with them. Most important to him were his sons, Alden and Waylon, who will now carry his legacy of kindness. Corey was precious to those who loved him, especially his mother who referred to him as her handsome baby. Corey’s life was short lived and incomplete, but his impact on those he loved will last a lifetime. He will be missed by all those who loved and cherished him. Corey is survived by his sons, Alden and Waylon Lyles; his parents, James and Julie Lyles; his grandparents, Bobby and Glenda Hankins, and Eddie Dunn; his sister, Brooke Lyles; his niece Logan Lyles and nephew Brayden Lyles; his uncles, BJ (Marie) Hankins and Rickey (Agusta) Hankins; his aunts, Sasha (Scott) Wood, Janét (Chris) Mahew, Anita (James) Moore, and Belinda (Ralph) Capps; and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda Dunn; his grandfather, JD Lyles; and his great grandparents, Gus and Minnie Billingsley, and George and Catherine Hankins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Corey Tanner Lyle’s funeral fund in care of Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.
