Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Danny Lee Payton, Sr., 52, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his home in Oxford, MS. Born in Oxford, he had lived here his entire life. He had worked with various businesses in the area including CAMCO, M & N Excavators and Gardner-Watson Ice Company. Mr. Payton enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, September 19, 2011, 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Goliday officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories located at Coleman Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, Danny L. Payton, Jr. and Charles A. Payton, both of Oxford, MS; two daughters, LaTonja M. Sanford and Quinece Roby, both of Oxford, MS; the mother of his children, Linda Payton of Oxford, MS; three brothers, Lee Wesley Payton of Brandon, MS, Johnny B. Payton and Larry G. Payton, both of Oxford, MS; three sisters, Samantha Payton, Ann Norphlet and Clara Bell Carothers, all of Oxford, MS; 8 grandchildren. His parents, Lee and Sarah Payton, preceded Mr. Payton in death.
