E. Gregory Ward Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Edmund Gregory Ward, 25, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at his residence near Oxford, MS. Gregory was a graduate of Lafayette High School and Northwest Mississippi Community College. He was a life member of the Mayflower Society, served on the Advisory Board of Mississippi L.I.F.E. Youth, and was in the Lafayette County High School Hall of Fame. He received the State L.I.F.E. award for L.I.F.E. Achievement and, in 2000, he was given the Youth Character Award by the Law Enforcement Officers Association. He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2006, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the parish hall at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Taylor Moore officiating. Interment will be at the church. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Gregory is survived by his parents, Edmund Haynes Ward and Allison Miller Ward of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Mary Martha Ward of Oxford, MS, and Clara Loraine Taylor of Booneville, MS; one brother, William Andrew Ward of Oxford, MS; his grandparents, Dr. Dennis Ward and Dr. Mary Ward of Jackson, TN, and G. W. and Martha Miller of Columbia, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the M.D.A., 3149 Players Club Parkway, Memphis, TN 38125(include name and family’s mailing address) or St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 113 South 9th Street, Oxford, MS 38655.
