Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Earl Dwain “Ed” Messer, 67, passed away Monday, August 07, 2006, at his residence in Lafayette County, Mississippi. Mr. Messer had been a lifelong resident of Lafayette County. He retired from Northeast Mississippi Electric Power Association in 1998 after a 35-year career. He attended Union Hill Methodist Church. Mr. Messer was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2006, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. George Crowden officiating. Interment will be in the Union Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Messer is survived by his wife, Fonda R. Messer of Oxford, MS; two sons, Gary Messer of Oxford, MS, and Kenneth Messer of Memphis, TN; one daughter, Deborah Dill of Memphis, TN; one sister, Patricia Mayo of Poolville, MS; one brother, Alfred Messer of Poolville, MS; three grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. His parents, Charlie and Mary Messer, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, Wahabi Shrine Center, P.O. Box 2750, Jackson, MS 39207.
