Ginger Lynn Alderman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Ginger Lynn Alderman, 64, passed away April 12, 2022, with her loving husband and children by her side at her home in Southaven, MS. A visitation will be held Monday, April 18, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS 38672). A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Travis L. Quertermous, Minister, Thayer Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will follow at Desoto Memorial Gardens (630 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS 38672). Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Ginger was born June 21, 1957, in Sikeston, MO. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was actively involved in her family’s lives and loved nothing more than spending quality time with them. She loved vacationing at the White River with her husband each year, relaxing and reminiscing about the beautiful life they built together. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching the birds and squirrels while sipping coffee on her back patio. Her favorite times were spent hosting or attending family get-togethers or cookouts. She loved to cook and bake. As Mom and Grandma she was known for making the best custom birthday cakes for each person’s birthday no matter how young or old. She enjoyed shopping with her daughter, visiting with her son, and spending countless hours at the ballpark watching her grandchildren’s ballgames. Ginger always had a way of lighting up a room with her beautiful smile. She always had a warm hug to offer and certainly one to make sure others felt loved. She was a true animal lover with a soft heart for anything that wiggled, so her rescue dog Annie, and her late dog Belle, were like her other children. Ginger was truly a precious person to all and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Mrs. Ginger is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jimmy Alderman of Southaven; her son, David (JoyLynn) Alderman of Hernando; her daughter Malena Alderman of Hernando; her grandchildren, Dillan Alderman, Dalton Alderman, Dale Davis, and Dixon Alderman, all of Hernando; and her two brothers, Jimmie (Joy) Strickland of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mark (Teresa) Strickland of Byhalia, MS. Mrs. Alderman was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Ray Strickland and Helen Mae Strickland.
