Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Mr. Hancle Perry Ray, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS 38672). A memorial service will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Pastor Don Goodrum will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ray was born January 7, 1939, in Crenshaw, MS. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was also a Mason, a member of the Shriners’ organization, and a member of the Cherry Road Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Mr. Ray was known to be a “master tinkerer.” He was an incredibly hard working man that never stopped. He was driven by his selflessness and always put others’ needs before his own. He had the amazing ability to touch the lives of everyone he came in contact with. His kindness, his smile, and his laugh were infectious and will truly be missed. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, watching westerns, and spending time with his beloved family. Mr. Hancle Perry Ray is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Rogers Ray of Nesbit, MS; his two daughters, Anita Sartino of Nesbit, and Lisa Lovett of Atoka, TN; three sons, Anthony (Jennifer) Ray of Southaven, Richard (Lisa) Ray of Stanton, TN, and Greg (Melissa) Ray of Olive Branch, MS; five granddaughters, Ashley (Josh) Boaz, Emily Ray, Crystal Smith, Nicole Smith, and Kara Tubbs; five grandsons, Thomas Sartino, Jr., Logan Ray Sartino, Peyten (Anais Paez) Warner, Christopher Ray, and Josh (Holly) Ray; six great-granddaughters, Allie Boaz, Haley Ray, Adelina Hook, Amber Turner, Eva Smith, and Brianna Russell; four great-grandsons, Henry Boaz, Christian Turner, Ian Porter, and Ethan Ray; one sister, Earline (Don) Woodlief of Big Sandy, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin E. Ray and Mary Stillwell Ray; one son, Hancle Perry Ray, Jr.; and seven siblings. In honor of Mr. Hancle Ray’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Marine Corp. will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven the day of the services.
