Irene Maples

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Frances Irene Maples, age 90, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. Born in Taylor, MS, she had lived in the Oxford area most of her life. She had worked for Chambers Corporation for many years in production. Mrs. Maples loved flowers and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved her church and was a faithful member of the Pine Bluff Church of Christ. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 12:00 n-2:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow that day at 2:00 p.m. in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Russell officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Tatum of Oxford, MS; a son, Jimmy Maples of Oxford; a sister, Cara Mae Tidwell of Oxford, MS; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Maples was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Maples; her parents, Floyd and Willie Bumgardner; a son, Donald Maples; two sisters, Jeanette Sealy and Cecil Goolsby; four brothers, James Bumgardner, Harold Bumgardner, Bill Bumgardner and Ray Bumgardner.
