Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Mr. Jack Jefferson Wallace, Jr., 81, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven, MS. A visitation will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Rd. East, Southaven, MS 38672), with a memorial service to immediately follow at 6:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of local arrangements. Jack was born December 31, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee. Jack was proud to have served six years in the United States Army and served during the Berlin Wall Occupation. During his service in the Army, he earned the medal of Good Conduct two times and was an expert Carbine Sharpshooter. He held an Associate’s Degree in Police Science and served the City of Memphis as a Police Lieutenant, retiring after 25 years of service. Family and friends remember Jack, “Pops”, as funny, outgoing, talkative, and to have never met a stranger. He loved the Memphis Tigers and enjoyed tailgating with his family. He was also an avid hunter and loved going to the movies. Jack was known by his family as a “piddler” and enjoyed spending his time outdoors. Jack is survived by his daughter, Dana Michelle Wallace of Southaven, MS; step-daughter Denise Blaylock of Harmontown, MS; step-son Michael Cresswell of Harmontown, MS; and grandchildren Jordan Thompson of Southaven, MS; Jason (Lexa) Cresswell of Harmontown, MS; Jeremy (Anna) Cresswell of Oxford, MS; Ashley Webb of Atlanta, GA; Shawn (Jehnnie) Webb of Oxford, MS; Timothy Blaylock of Harmontown, MS; Tad (Jennifer) Blaylock of Senatobia, MS; Tiffany (Donald) Woodward of Oxford, MS; 12 Great Grandchildren; Brothers Thomas (Sandy) Wallace of Fernandina Beach, FL; Robert (Ann) Wallace of Cordova, TN; Raymond (Susan) Wallace of Collierville, TN; sister Joyce (Fred) Massa of Okala, FL, and a host of nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Wallace; parents, Jack Wallace, Sr. and Marion Francis Wallace; step-daughter Dianna Webb; and grandson Jamie Cresswell.
