Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford James Cullen “Peewee” Bryant, 90, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford, MS. Born in Taylorsville, MS, Mr. Bryant was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He had lived in Oxford since moving from Hattiesburg, MS, in 2003. Mr. Bryant retired as a draftsman from Entex after 32 years employment. He was an avid Ole Miss sports fan and a member of the First Methodist Church in Mendenhall, MS. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mendenhall City Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford, MS and Colonial Chapel of Mendenhall, MS are in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one son, James Michael Bryant of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Sterling Bryant of Tallahassee, FL and Ray Bryant of Boise, ID; one sister, Gloria Bryant Lee of Hattiesburg, MS. His wife, Josephine Grubbs Bryant, a son, Timothy Aaron Bryant, his parents, Edward Currie Bryant and Jewell Pearson Bryant, and one sister, Marguerite Bryant Hamblin, preceded Mr. Bryant in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Mendenhall Cemetery Association, Inc., P.O. Box 838, Mendenhall, MS.
