Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford James B. “Brad” Harwell, 92, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Graceland Care Center of Oxford. Born in Tula, MS, Mr. Harwell had lived his entire lifetime in the Oxford area. Mr. Harwell was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Rebel, Inc. where he had been employed as a car salesman. Mr. Harwell enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, watching basketball and football. In his younger years, he played guitar in a band. Mr. Harwell was baptized at the age of 9 and became a member of Tula Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home with a graveside service following immediately at Anchor Cemetery, Hwy. 7 South, Water Valley, MS. Bro. Shannon Davis will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one son, James Larry Harwell of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Gay Biggs of Collierville, TN and Kay Burns of Oxford, MS; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. His parents, Edward and Rushie Harwell, his wife, Inez H. Harwell, and a daughter, Nancy H. Tubbs all preceded Mr. Harwell in death.
