Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Janice Mckitrick Truett, 87, died Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her home in Oxford, MS. Born in Chicago, IL, Mrs. Truett had moved to Oxford from Jackson, MS in 1959. She had worked for American Airlines and Elliott Jewelers, but was primarily a homemaker. An avid bridge player, Mrs. Truett was also an adviser to the Alpha Z Delta House and a Boy Scout den mother. She was a member of the Christian Second Church of Christ Scientist in Memphis, TN. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011, 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Peterman will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include a son, Frank “Rick” Truett of Oxford, MS; two grandchildren, Amanda Noel Hinton and Cody Mckitrick Truett, both of Oxford, MS. Her husband, Earl Albert Truett, Jr., a son, Earl Albert “Bud” Truett III, a brother, Richard Charles Mckitrick and her parents, Frank and Beatrice Mckitrick, all preceded Mrs. Truett in death.
