Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Jerry Neal Perry, Sr., 76, of Southaven, MS passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm all at Longview Heights Baptist Church (4501 Goodman Road, Olive Branch, MS). Interment will be at Autumn Woods Memorial Park (6240 Davidson Rd, Olive Branch, MS). Dr. Douglas C. Beggs will officiate. Jerry was born on November 9, 1945 in Lexington, TN. He retired from Bellsouth in 2000 after 35 years. He was a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church. He was a retired reserve deputy from the Desoto County Sheriff’s Department where he worked for more than 30 years. He held the Desoto County Motor Unit Training for the Midsouth Motorcops Association. He was a volunteer EMT for Desoto County. He loved spending time riding and traveling in his RV. Jerry loved his family was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to the love of his life, Judy, for 56 years. He loved to play pranks on friends and family. Jerry will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy Perry of Southaven, MS; sons, Jerry N. Perry, Jr., (Jennifer) of Southaven, and Chris Perry (Candace) of Olive Branch, MS; granddaughters, Haley Perry of Olive Branch, Ava Perry of Olive Branch, Berkeley Perry of Olive Branch; grandsons, Andrew Perry (Christen) of Hernando, MS, Justin Perry of Memphis, TN, Tucker Smith (Lauren) of Southaven, Skyler Smith of Memphis, Chas Bell of Southaven, and Trae Justice of Olive Branch; great-granddaughter, Hensley Smith; great-grandsons, Graham Perry, Haddon Perry; sister, Marie Pusser of Lexington, TN; brother, Rick Perry (Eva) of Franklin, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lena Perry and Horace Elmer Perry, Sr.; grandson, Michael Perry; sister, Ruth Hurtt; and brothers, James Perry Elmer Perry, Horace Elmer Perry, Jr., and Charles Perry. In lieu of traditional flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Jerry Neal Perry, Sr., to the Friends of Post 607 (Desoto County Search and Rescue Unit) at 830 Old Hwy 51 N, Nesbit, MS, 38651.
