John LoPreto, Jr.
October 6, 1948 - February 20, 2022
Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch John Benedict LoPreto Jr., 73, of Byhalia, Mississippi went home to Jesus on Sunday, February 20th, 2022. The family will welcome friends and family on Saturday, February 26th, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church (4800 Highway 305 West, Olive Branch MS) with a service following at 4:00 PM. Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch, MS is in charge of the arrangements. John was born on October 6th, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York. He is survived by the love of his life with whom he shared 46 wonderful years, Trudi; his daughter Nancy; his son in love Jason; his precious granddaughter Violet; and his mother Marien. He was reunited in heaven with his father, John Sr. He was a Boy Scout, a lifelong fan of the New York Rangers and loved to travel with his family, especially to Walt Disney World. Once Nancy outgrew the daddy daughter mornings at the playground, he shared his love of trains, Godzilla, math, Lord of the Rings, and science fiction with her and was beyond happy to get to do it all over again with Violet. He loved being a member of the LaBelle Haven Baptist Church family and leading the Salt and Light class. He found his greatest gift years earlier when asked to be the teacher at Grove Park Baptist Church in North Carolina. John had a successful career in IT for 35 years, most of them spent on Wall Street. He was always a patriotic American and when the July 4th celebrations were cut from the township budget, he founded the LTCCA which vowed to always light up the sky on the 4th of July for the people of Lawrence New Jersey. After leaving the corporate world, he founded his own business consulting firm, Solomon Strategic Advisors. He was grateful to be able to share his lifelong knowledge with the business community. The best years of his life came when he retired and was able to be with his wife every day and they were seldom seen apart. They loved to spend time together, especially playing Strat-o-matic hockey and eating out. He is remembered by Trudi as her knight in shining armor, by his daughter as the world’s best father, by his son in love as a wonderful man and by his granddaughter as the best Grandpa you could ever imagine. In lieu of flowers, John’s wish would have been for memorials in his honor to be made to LaBelle Haven Baptist Church (www.labellehaven.org) or to the charity of your choice. In honor of John LoPreto, Jr's service to our country, the flag of the United States Air Force will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home the day of the service.
