Jonathan Houston Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Jonathan Dwayne “Petey” Houston, age 23, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, near Oxford, MS. After moving from Osceola, AR, Mr. Houston had lived in the Oxford area for about two years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Osceola, AR, but attended Yellow Leaf Baptist Church in Oxford. He enjoyed many types of sports including basketball, football, and lifting weights. Visitation will be held Friday, December 26, 2008, 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008 with Bro. Jerry East officiating. Interment will be in New El Bethel Cemetery, CR 331, Oxford, MS. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his parents, Sondra and Richard Jenkins of Oxford, MS; his fiancé, Audra Hobby of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Emma Claire Houston of Oxford, MS; two brothers, Jamie Jenkins of Oxford, MS and Jeremy Jenkins of Starkville, MS; four sisters, Jennifer Cannon of Pine Bluff, AR, Stacy Rawson, Tabitha Phillips, and Christian Jenkins, all of Oxford, MS; his grandmothers, Emma Houston of Osceola, AR and Lera Jenkins of Oxford, MS. His grandfathers, Marvin Houston and Leland Jenkins preceded Mr. Houston in death. Memorials may be made to Yellow Leaf Baptist Church, 50 CR 435, Oxford, MS 38655.
