She graduated from Northwest Community College and became a Registered Nurse and with that degree she chose to work at the Public Health Department, exhibiting her selfless love and living service putting her patients’ needs above all else. She worked there for over 30 years. She also taught Nursing at Northwest Community College in Oxford at the beginning of her nursing career. Kay loved going on adventures with Sandra, her best friend, going on their yearly trip to the beach and going to Georgia. She could sit on that beach with her toes in the sand without any care in the world; it was truly her happy place. When Kay wasn’t traveling, she could be found with her family. She held the greatest love for her children and especially her grandchildren. She loved nothing more but to be with them. She always put their needs above hers and would do it continuously. Her love for them was beyond words. She will be dearly missed by all those that loved and cherished her. Kay is survived by her children, Kristi (Rowe) Brookfield, of Jackson, TN, Glenn (Nichole) Coleman, of Oxford, and Keri Jo (Justin) Sapp, of Pontotoc, MS; her grandchildren, Kennedy Brookfield, Brad Brookfield, of Jackson, TN, Mary-Massey Perkins, Gage Perkins, and Sarah-Kay Coleman, all of Oxford, and Asher Sapp, of Pontotoc, MS; her brother, Dr. Ricky (Vicki) Parker, of Saltillo, MS; a host of nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Sandra (Don) Brewer, of Oxford, MS. She was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Kathryn Parker; and her siblings, Eloise Feasel, David Parker, Ronald Parker, and Carol Jean Gandy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made known to the Kingdom Cemetery Fund (c/o Bobby Clark 41 County Road 443, Oxford, MS 38655). Please leave online condolences on her Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhome.com.
