Larry James Hunt Sr.

Larry James Hunt, Sr., 76, passed away June 07, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven, MS. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Larry was born June 21, 1945, in Tampa, FL. On sunny days, you would catch Mr. Larry outside mowing his grass, which he didn’t consider a chore; he loved it. He was quite the outdoorsman and would rarely be seen inside. When it came to vacations, you would find him near the water; the beach was his “go to” vacation destination. His family described him as the perfect family man. He was an amazing husband and loved his children. He was rough on the outside, but gentle on the inside. His favorite past time was going to the casino, only on a winning day of course. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Mr. Larry is survived by his wife, Donna Reeder Hunt of Horn Lake, MS; a son, Larry J. Hunt, Jr. of Cordova, TN; a daughter, Tonya Mohon (David) of Batesville, MS; two stepsons, Daniel (Kendra) of Southaven, MS and Dusty (Jordyn) Bailey of Horn Lake, MS; four grandchildren, Carson (Paige) Hunt of Frayser, TN; Rebecca Klenk of Millington, TN; Alex Mohon of Batesville, MS; and Calib Mohon of Batesville, MS; and one great-grandchild, Melanie Bratton of Millington, TN.
