Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mae King Ingram, 86, passed away in New Albany, MS, on Saturday, July 3, 2021. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the service to immediately following at 11:30 a.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. Interment will be in Garden of Memories. Bro. Wes Hughes will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mae was born to the late C.V. and Ethel King in Water Valley, MS. She was married to Melvin Ingram for 39 years. During her life, she worked as a Office Manager for her and her husband’s business, Ingram Electric and Plumbing and other businesses. Later on in life, she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Northwest Mississippi Community College. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oxford, MS. Mae is described by her family as being adventurous, loving, and caring. She enjoyed gardening, riding the four wheeler, and fishing. She loved to sing in the senior choir at North Oxford Baptist Church and the Oxford Community Choir. Along with singing, Mae thoroughly loved playing the piano too. Mae was also known to be a great writer, dabbling in writing poems, stories, and songs. Among her family and friends, she was an “awesome” cook. She was full of spirt and energetic. At the age of 59, she learned how to snow ski. She also enjoyed traveling, trekking to Europe three times during her life. Being a 2 time lung cancer survivor, she never let her past illnesses get in the way of living her life to the fullest. She leaves the legacy of her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved and adored with all her heart. She was very proud of them and all their achievements in life. She will be dearly missed by them all. Mae is survived by her husband of 39 years, Melvin Ingram, of Oxford, MS; her daughter, Yvonne (David) Box, of Evanston, WY; her son Len King, of Abbeville, MS; her daughter, Tammy (Don) Randle, of Jasper, TN; her step-son, Scott (Wendy) Ingram, of Coles Point, MS; six grandchildren, Rachelle Babcock, of West Jordan, UT, Jarod (DeAnna) Babcock, of Herriman, UT, Lendon King, of Abbeville, Mary Elizabeth King, of Austin, TX, Meghan Randle, of West New York, NJ, and MacKenzie Randle, of Huntsville, AL; one step-grandchild, Sterlynn Ingram, of Coles Point, MS; four great-grandchildren, Kyah Reese, of West Jordan, Tobias Babcock, of Herriman, Dorien Babcock, of Herriman, and Grey King, of Abbeville; two sisters; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.V. and Ethel King; and seven siblings.
