Marissa Renee Kelly Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Marissa Renee Kelly, 21, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, in Oxford, MS. A visitation will be held Monday, November 16, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home (601 Commerce Parkway, Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00 p.m. also at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. Bro. David Westmoreland will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Marissa was a beautiful angel sent by God who was a joy to be around. Her smile was known to light up the room and would make one’s day. She often enjoyed joking around with her family and friends making them laugh. Her family describes her as simply being an “amazing” person. Marissa loved listening to music with Kane Brown and Trent Harmon being among her favorite artists. When she wasn’t listening to music, Marissa could be found outdoors. She also loved eating different types of foods. But of all the things listed, Marissa was a “girly-girly” would thoroughly enjoyed dressing up and wearing lots of jewelry. Among being a “girly-girly,” she would often flirt with her sister’s boyfriends. In 2019, Marissa was crowned queen in the St. Jude’s Pageant. With all the things that life threw at her, Marissa held her head high with her contagious smile. She was a member of Longview Baptist Church in Belden, MS. Marissa is survived by her mother, Janet Tubbs, of New Albany, MS; her biological mother, Johnnie Ann Kelly, of Greenwood, MS; her stepmother, Martha Jane Gray, of Myrtle, MS; four sisters, Frances F. Sullivan, of Memphis, TN, Britney Blankenship, of Arlington, TN, Kayci Sullivan, of Tupelo, MS, Reachel Jaudon, of Belden, MS, and Selena Ashley, of Myrtle, MS; two brothers, Michael Shane Sullivan, of Tupelo, MS, and Tracy Blankenship, of Arlington, MS; 3 nieces; 3 nephews; 5 great aunts and uncles; and her 2 grandmothers, Patsy Matthis, of Myrtle, MS, and Anita Camp, of Pope, MS. Marissa was preceded in death by her father, Mark Blankenship; her grandmother, Frances Dickey; and her great-grandmother, Roxie Rea.
