Martha "Matsy" Stairs

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Martha “Matsy” Lynn Stairs, 74, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022. A visitation will be held, Friday, February 11, 2022, at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held immediately following with procession leading to the Garden of Memories. Bro. Fish Robinson will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Matsy was born to the late Hollis Lynn and Jane Racheal (Hopkins) Morgan. Matsy was described by her family as a kind hearted soul with a contagious smile. The memory she leaves with her family is her love for riding horses and painting. Matsy served as an Oxford School Teacher where she touched the lives of many children through her enrichment of English and Social Studies. When not in the classroom, Matsy was devoted to her family and granddaughter. Her family remembers her for being outgoing, intelligent, and carrying a witty personality that made those around her smile. Matsy will be missed by those she touched within her time here with us. Matsy is survived by her daughter, Ashely (Brian) Russell, of Oxford; and her granddaughter, Adrienne Russell, also of Oxford.
