Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mary Frances Stafford, 51, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. She was born in Jackson, MS to Rosemary Tucker Glasgow and William Hargadine Glasgow. Mrs. Stafford grew up in Memphis, TN and graduated from the Immaculate Conception Cathedral High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Mississippi in 1982, where she was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. A member of Harrisburg Baptist Church, Mrs. Stafford was devoted to her family and treasured the moments spent with family and friends. As an educator, she was a dedicated advocate for children and families. In the late nineties, she received national recognition for her work as a parent volunteer at Thomas Street Elementary School. For the past decade, she had pursued her love of teaching with enthusiasm and determination as an employee of the Tupelo Public Schools. A graveside celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Stafford family plot in the Pontotoc City Cemetery, Pontotoc, MS with Rev. David Langerfeld officiating. Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of Oxford arrangements. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Roger Stafford; her children, Casey Carol and Tucker Stafford of Tupelo; Shane (Emily) Stafford of Pontotoc and grandson, John Howard Stafford; her godmother, Betty Lou Tucker of Iowa City, IA; an uncle, Merrill Glasgow of Houston, TX; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and D’Anne Stafford of Pontotoc; Jimmy and Cheri Mathews of Oxford; Richard Stafford of Pontotoc; and Jeff and Alecia Larkin of Carmel, IN; 13 nieces and nephews. Her parents, grandparents and godfather, William Tucker, all preceded Mrs. Stafford in death. Visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2011, 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Harrisburg Baptist Church, Tupelo, MS. The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O.
