Mason McDaniel Baker Sr.

October 11, 1930 - March 21, 2022

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mason McDaniel Baker, Sr., 91, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Garden of Memories Pavilion from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a service immediately following at 2:00 p.m., also at the Garden of Memories (295 Highway 7 North Oxford, MS 38655). Interment will be at Garden of Memories. Bro. Allen Harris will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Mason was remembered by his family for being a family man, who was devoted to all of his family through acts of service which came naturally from his constant love he felt for them. He was described as a hard worker, that insisted his yard be well kept and would stop at nothing to ensure just that. Mason had a certain characteristic for being a very bold and adventurous man when it came to the way he thought and envisioned things to be. He was very creative and had a very broad entrepreneurial mindset all throughout life. He was also known for his giving hand and pure appreciation to the VA Administration/Staff and Encompass Hospice. Mason leaves his family with the legacy of when you grab ahold, you don’t let go and you accomplish whatever you sought out that needed change. Also while teaching his children the value of a great life, he led them in the direction of the Lord where he and his wife, Frances Charlene Baker, served as faithful attenders of North Oxford Baptist Church. Mason will be missed by all of those who loved and cherished him. Mason is survived by his wife, Frances Charlene Baker, of Oxford and three sons; Ron Baker, of Austin, TX, Mac (Donna) Baker, of Anniston, AL, and Ken Baker, of Purvis, MS; and his grandson, Chris Baker, of San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.E., Sr. and Alva McDaniel Baker; his identical twin brother, Merrill Baker; brother W.E. Baker; and his sisters, Martha Namie and Betty Saterfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans (https://bit.ly/3qtm7Sr). Please leave online condolences on his Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhome.com.
