Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Minnie Lee Poe, 79, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at her residence near Oxford, MS. Mrs. Poe had lived in Lafayette County the majority of her lifetime after moving here from Holly Springs, MS. She was a homemaker and had been employed 15 years as a nurse. Mrs. Poe was a former member of the Abbeville Baptist Church, Abbeville, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, 2007, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home and Wednesday, March 7, 2007, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brett Williams and Bro. Higdon Herrington officiating. Interment will be in the Abbeville Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Chalmers L. Poe, Sr. of Oxford, MS; five sons, Joseph McLarty of Tacoma, WA, Eddie McLarty of Litchfield, IL, John McLarty of Marks, MS, Chalmers L. Poe, Jr. of Billings, MT, and Ricky L. Poe of Oxford, MS; four daughters, Mary Enright of Vincennes, IN, Lottie McLarty of Oxford, MS, Mary Massey of Hickory Flat, MS, and Shelly L. Thompson of Portland, OR; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Poe was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe McLarty and Charles E. Bennett; two infant children; her parents, Charles and Mary L. Johnson; two sisters, Lottie Johnson and Mattie Maude Redding; one brother, Charles B. Bennett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Abbeville Cemetery Fund, c/o Abbeville Bank, P.O. Box 39, Abbeville, MS 38601.
