Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Otis Dwight “Nubbin” McCord, age 62, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Having lived in the Oxford area the majority of his life, Mr. McCord was retired from Whirlpool Corporation. His greatest pleasure came from time spent with his family and friends. He was a member of Springdale Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 19, 2009, 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rich Dilling officiating. Interment will be in the Springdale Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 334 East, Oxford, MS. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Leath McCord of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Lynn McCord Conerly of Madison, MS; three sons, Lee McCord, Andy McCord, and Justin McCord, all of Oxford, MS; four brothers, Odis McCord of Southaven, MS, Mike McCord, Ray Knox McCord and Frankie McCord, all of Oxford, MS; seven grandchildren. His parents, Ellis and Vonie McCord and one brother, Kelly Wayne McCord, preceded Mr. McCord in death.
