Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Rebecca Steele Treadway, 82, of Cockrum, MS, passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2021. The family will welcome friends at a visitation on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Cockrum Cemetery. Mrs. Treadway was born December 15, 1938, in Memphis, TN. She was an active member of Cockrum United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully for years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and she cherished every moment with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Treadway was very well read and artistic. Her faith was very important to her and she could quote any verse from the Bible. Mrs. Treadway was a sincere "Southern Lady" and was very compassionate to the less fortunate. She was married to the love of her life, Jerry, for 50 years. The family would like to acknowledge and thank her wonderful and dedicated caretaker and friend, Angie Lentz, for all her compassion she demonstrated over the years. Rebecca leaves behind her husband, Gerald Treadway of Cockrum; daughters, Patricia (Frank) Hardey of Houston, TX, Carol (Randy) Humphreys of Corinth, MS and Lisa (Steve) White of Hernando; sisters, Patricia Blackwell of Memphis and Pam Pauley of Crenshaw, MS; grandchildren, Amber (David) Jackson of Hernando, Conner Humphreys of Vancouver, WA, Jessica Humphreys of Corinth, Joshua (Traci) White of Palmetto, FL, Melissa (Brad) Manus of Hernando, Anna Humphreys of Corinth, Thomas Hardey of Houston, Patrick Hardey of Houston and nine great-grandchildren. Rebecca was preceded in death by parents, Mae and Jessie R. Steele. In lieu of traditional flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
