Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Ronald Perryman Brasfield "Pops", 65, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 28, 2022. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with the memorial service at 6:00 pm at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch (6815 Parkview Blvd. Olive Branch, MS). Dr. Matt Hall will officiate. Ron, affectionately known as “Pops,” was born on December 16, 1956 in Memphis, TN. He was a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the National Turkey Federation, and the National Wildlife Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved animals and at one time had several exotic animals of his own. Ron started an organization, “Birds Over America,” where white doves were released during various events. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren; they were the apple of his eye. Ron loved the Lord with all of his heart and loved to tell those he met about Jesus. He was a kind and loving man who never met a stranger. Ron was married to the love of his life, Sondi, for nearly 30 years. Ron is survived by his wife, Sondi Brasfield of Olive Branch; daughter, Jenny Smith of Olive Branch; son, Perry Brasfield of Memphis, TN; step-son, Josh Rhinehart (Brandi) of Mt. Jackson, VA; granddaughter, Madison Moate of Olive Branch; and grandsons, Will Barker of Olive Branch, Caleb Moate of Olive Branch, Hayden Smith of Hernando, Hudson Maxey of Oxford, MS, Landry Rhinehart of Mt. Jackson, and Holden Moate of Olive Branch. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy and John Brasfield, Sr., and brother, John Brasfield, Jr. In lieu of traditional flowers, memorials can be made in his name to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.apdaparkinsons.com).
