Rubye Vaughn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Rubye Moody Vaughn, 95, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at her home in Oxford, MS. Born in Lafayette County, Mrs. Vaughn had lived in the Oxford area most of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for Moore Lumber Company and as a medical assistant to Dr. Sims for many years. Mrs. Vaughn was a homemaker who loved and cared for her family and friends. She was a member of the South Oxford Congregational Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the South Oxford Congregational Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Rev. Martin Case will officiate. Interment will be in the Oxford Memorial Cemetery, Oxford, MS. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include two grandchildren, Melanie Pierron Patrick of Baton Rouge, LA and Walter Joseph Pierron, III of Plano, TX; one sister, Gertrude Moody Hataway of Oxford, MS; one son-in-law, Walter Joseph Pierron, Jr. of Monroe, LA; 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Vaughn; her parents, Joe and Tamie Fudge Moody; a daughter, Jimmie Grace Hayles Pierron; a brother, Herbert Moody.
