Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Sandra “Sandye” Jordan Capers, 77, of Tunica, MS passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home in Olive Branch (6815 Parkview Blvd. Olive Branch, MS 38654). A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Sandye was born on July 23, 1944 in Parkin, AR. She worked as an accountant at Kelloggs for almost 30 years, where she met the love of her life and best friend, John Capers. After retirement, they built a home in Tunica, MS. Gardening was Sandye’s passion and enjoyed making her yard and home beautiful. She loved to fish and would always out-fish everyone, even the guys. Sandye was an avid reader and liked doing puzzles. She was loved and deeply appreciated by everyone in her family and will be truly missed. Sandye is survived by her loving husband of over 33 years, John Taylor Capers; daughters, Susan Capers of Tunica, MS and Cindy Saint (Tommy) of Memphis, TN; son, Johnny Capers (Kathy) of Tunica, MS; daughter, Sandra Purdom of Memphis, TN; grandson, Justin Saint (Lillie) of Germantown, TN; granddaughters, Barbara Leonard (Arnie) of Olive Branch, MS and Abby Purdom of Memphis, TN; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jo Langston and Patsy Wootten of Olive Branch, MS; three nephews and one niece. Sandye was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Myrtle Irene Jordan. In lieu of traditional flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Sandra Jordan Capers to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
