Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Shirley Lonon McLarty, 75, of Byhalia, MS, passed away at her home on Monday, February 7, 2022. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at Byhalia United Methodist Church in the Flame. The graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mount Zion Cemetery in Oxford, MS. Reverend M.J. Pope of Byhalia United Methodist Church will officiate. Shirley was born on November 18, 1946 in Memphis, TN. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Barton Community Club. She was also a 4H volunteer. Shirley loved flowers. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, and sewing. She loved her family and she especially enjoyed spending her time spoiling her grandkids. Shirley is survived by her husband, Jerry Bedford McLarty of Byhalia; daughter, Janet Jolley (James) of Byhalia; sons, Jerry Carlos McLarty (Julie) of Olive Branch, and William Curtis McLarty (Marsha) of Oxford, MS; and grandsons, Brandon McLarty (Catie), Ben McLarty (Chandler), Blake Jolley (Kayla), Jonathan Jolley, Alan McLarty and Walter McLarty. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Flossie Myree Lonon and Robert Carlos Lonon; sister, Barbara Glenn and brother, Robert Carlos Lonon, Jr. In lieu of traditional flowers, memorials can be made in her name to Byhalia United Methodist Church (www.byhaliaumc.org) or Old Methodist Campground (11 County Road 417, Oxford, MS 38655).
