Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Travis Lee Cobb, 60, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, in Oxford, MS. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at New Prospect Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 2:00 p.m., also at New Prospect Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Springdale Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Buster Wilson will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Lee was born to the late Vernon Lenay and Carolyn Cobb. He was married and dedicated to the love of his life, Melinda Cobb, for 40 years. Lee was an avid outdoorsman, whether it be fishing, hunting, or boating, he simply loved being out in nature. He had an amazing sense of humor and could tell the best stories. When asked to describe Lee, his family said to “think outside the box” so we left it at that. Lee was a child at heart, always keeping the kids at church and his grandchildren entertained. But more than anything, he loved his family and everything he did, he did for them. He was a member at New Prospect Baptist Church and faithfully served as a deacon. He worked in AWANA for 13 years. He was involved in every ministry project at church, but often serving in the kitchen and AWANA games. He truly loved his church family. Lee is survived by his wife, Melinda Cobb, of Oxford, MS; his children, Adam Lamar Cobb, of NY, Erik (Sadie) Cobb, of Oxford, and Kelsey Cobb, of FL; his grandchildren, Landon Cobb, Aydin Cobb, and Skylar Cobb; his siblings, Cindy Estock, of Oxford, and Billy (Jennifer) Cobb, of Memphis, TN; his sister-in-law, Peggy Cobb, of Oxford; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Lenay and Carolyn Cobb; his grandson, Noah Weston Cobb; and his brother, Tommy Cobb. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to You Turn Ministries (https://youturnmin.org/donations/bibles/), which help fund Bibles for Africa. Please leave online condolences on his Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhome.com.
