Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Vivian Heard Page, age 93, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, MS. Mrs. Page worked with the Mississippi State Department of Health as a secretary until her retirement. However, her true avocation was music and sharing that love and appreciation with her students. Mrs. Page received her masters’ degree from the University of Mississippi in music education and enjoyed a long career as a music teacher in public and private schools in Mississippi. She was well-known as an expert in the field of music education. Her students in the schools received numerous honors due to her skill and encouragement. There are many people in Oxford who were her students for piano lessons. An accomplished musician, Mrs. Page was the organist for various Episcopal churches in Mississippi, including St. Peter’s Episcopal of Oxford, MS. In addition, she was an avid bridge player who belonged to a bridge club. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford, MS. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, march 11, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Taylor Moore officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford, MS. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include three daughters, Martha Watt of Batesville, MS, Paula Page of Sarasota, FL and Linda Neelly of Storrs, CT; one sister, Dorothy Heard of Oxford, MS; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of the donor’s choice.
